August 2016 Reading List

While your waiting, patiently I hope, for Chasing Fire and Blood Stone to be released this Fall, I figured I would help you find some amazing reads that will tide you over until then.

I’m an avid reader, I’ve read 4 books just this week, and I love so many books that it’s hard for me to pick just one (or 5) to recommend. My personal favorites are mostly in the fantasy genre, so if you love all things mythical, magical, and supernatural like I do, this list will definitely keep you busy for a while.

I’m not so much into horror books or books that make me weep like a baby, so if your looking for something that will keep you up all night hiding under your covers or give you a massive ugly cry you might want to look elsewhere for recommendations.

That being said, most of these books did keep me on my toes and a few  ripped my heart out without my consent.

Without further ado, here is my August reading list.

Pieces of Summer by C.M. Owens-pieces of sumer.jpg

C.M. Owens is and amazing author  which I’ve raved about before. Once again, she kept me up all night and left me with a massive book hangover with Pieces of Summer. This love story about a girl and a boy who spent every summer together and fall in love as children before unforseen circumstances rip them apart. Talk about a tear jerker!

Dog With a Bone by Hayley Edwards-dog with a bone.jpg

This supernatural crime series reminds me of the TV drama Supernatural. But unlike Supernatural, the Thierry just so happens to be supernatural herself. Thierry is a hunter employed by the Council to track down and arrest other supernatural beings who threaten to expose their kind. Since she is the daughter of The Black Dog, a peacekeepers amongst the Fae, it’s only natural that she follows in her father’s footsteps and protects their kind.

Ash by Jaymin Eve and Leia Stone-ash

This dynamic duo really hit it out of the park with Ash, a story of a world where vampires not only coexist with humans but procreat with them too. The outcome? An all male vampire/human Hybrid, or Ash, school whose students are forced to fight to the death if they want to attend. This book is full of action, mystery, and it will leave you realing.

Perfectly Toxic by C.M. Owens-perfectly toxic

The newest installment from The Sterling Shores Series didn’t disappoint. This funny, quirky, and sometimes heartbreaking novel kept me up all night laughing and crying. If you haven’t read any of the previous books in the series you can get the first book, Hooked on the Game, on all outlets for free to see if you like it.

Ethan  is a rich bad boy who can’t feel touch and isn’t looking for a serious relationship; Bella is a hard working nurse with an auto correct problem looking for marriage and to leave her bad boy ways behind. An accident involving an ex girlfriend and a broken beer bottle ends with Ethan in the hospital Bella works at. All it takes is one simple touch to make Ethan chase the girl who doesn’t want him.

Vampire Girl By Karpov Kinrade-vamoire girl.jpg

If a stranger walked up to you and told you the only way to save your mother’s soul from eternal hell was for you to sign over your own, what would you do? Arianna is forced to do just that after her mother falls into a coma and almost dies. The stipulations? She must marry one of the Devils seven sons and give him an heir before her mother will wake back up. She is wisked away to Hell and given one month with each son to get to know them before she is forced to choose who to marry. This was an awesome twist to an old story that left me wanting more.

Have you read any amazing stories this summer? Tell me about them in the comments!
